Can
I expect personal service with your company?
We are very customer service oriented, and
in fact our company has grown so large related to the fact that most of our
nurses are from referrals. Once the nurse refers another nurse to their
recruiter then that recruiter help the referred nurse obtain an assignment
in their area of choice. If the nurse to recruiter personality isn't a
perfect fit, then we make every attempt to make sure that the nurses needs
are met.
Do you cover all the
United States, parts of the U.S. or do you also offer international assignments?
We not only cover all of
the United States, but also the US Virgin Islands and Bermuda. Through our
partner, Assignment America, we offer assignments in the United States to
candidates from Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia, South America,
Ireland, New Zealand, Trinidad, and Jamaica.
About professional
insurance, do you believe that the insurance that a company provides is good enough, or
does the nurse also need to obtain her own professional insurance?
Each nurse that travels
with us will have their own personal professional insurance. Even if the
nurse only works for 13 weeks, their coverage lasts for the full year.
What size is your company
(small, medium, large), and can I expect to be treated as a number or a name?
We are a very large
company and every effort is made for our nurses not to get lost in the
system. We pride ourselves on top rated customer service. We have a quality
control team which makes sure that the hospital is supplied with only the
best nurses and that the nurses work with only the top notched recruiters.
I work night shift, what
if I have problems at night? Do you have
someone I can talk to even in the middle of the night?
We have a 24-hour phone number for all our
nurses who can reach a manager on call. We have nurse managers who will
assist the nurses with any clinical questions or situations that develop.
What other type of
benefits does your company provide?
It depends on your
specialty, experience and assignment location. We always negotiate top rates
for our travelers. Add in shift differentials and completion bonuses of up
to $3,500, and you'll see why Cross Country leads the industry in total
compensation-pay and benefits. We offer completion bonuses on many
assignments. You can earn $500 up to $3500 on certain assignments. We also
guarantee your hourss. You will be paid for low census shifts, in excess of
24 hours, which cannot be made up during the assignment on a Guaranteed Pay
assignment. We have thousands of Guaranteed Pay assignments throughout the
United States in a variety of settings and specialties. With our Referral
Bonus program, you can receive $500 for every healthcare professional you
refer to Cross Country, who begins their first travel assignment or accepts
a permanent position. Our comprehensive salary and benefits package
includes: completion and referral bonuses; shift differentials; a 401(k)
retirement plan; free first day health, dental and life insurance; free
housing or a generous housing allowance; free first day professional
liability and short-term disability insurance and accidental death coverage;
travel reimbursement; free checking and direct deposit; continuing
education; and discounts on products and services at some of the nation's
top retailers. All standard benefits begin as soon as you start your
assignment.
What is your average time
from acceptance of application to first day on the job for those nurses ready-to-go?
Related to the fact that we do a lot of
vender management in which we personally do the interviews, your assignment
can be confirmed within 24 hours.
What
makes your company more than just another travel company?
We are constantly listening to input and
ideas from our nurses. We provide many services including educational
opportunities, testing programs, and allot of our recruiters are nurses and
have been out there on the road. We also provide in-house corporate counsel.
Do your homework and look at the total
package. We provide a lot more soft items than any other travel company out
there. Our nurses and allied health employees don't have to worry about
whether or not they are going to be in compliance with the IRS at the end of
the year, because we follow the strict guidelines, and have professional
staff that keeps track of any changes. I also would like dispel the rumor
that all our nurses have shared housing, when in fact only about 15% have
shared housing, and your housing along with other amenities get better and
better through our Loyalty Rewards program.
